A Peony Tea Party for Two...

Pin It Now!
This week brought one of the most beautiful seasons of the year at la casa....peony season.
Oh how I adore my peonies!
Each June when they bloom, I am so grateful to the woman who planted them...the original owner of our almost 20 year old house.
She planted not only these beauties...but lilacs, hostas, raspberries and others.
And they bring to so much beauty to our home.
It is so wonderful to be able to step outside with a pair of scissors and come back in with a bouquet.
I put together this little bistro table for a luncheon with a friend.

Peonies have such big personality....and they looks so pretty with almost any dishes.
I love the contrast with the blue & white....so delicious!

Fresh flowers, dishes, linen and a bistro table....it's like having my own little cafe in my backyard.
I am so very grateful for small pleasure like this!

What small pleasures of summer are you enjoying right now?
I would love to hear!

What a lovely table and your peonies are gorgeous! I bought two this year to put into our garden and I can't wait until they bloom in the future :)

Beautiful photos of the lovely tablescape. I'm enjoying some hydrangeas I cut and brought in today (and a bit of quiet time since my guys are on a church bus trip to the Toronto Blue Jays game.)

They are so beautiful, Angie! I had some faux ones in almost that same color on my dining room table for awhile. I know it's not even close to the beauty of the real thing, but I don't think peonies would care for our desert climate....lol!

Love the pink peonies with the blue and white table setting. Our peonies are long over, so I have to settle for other flowers. Peonies are definitely worth celebrating.

Pretty! And such a relaxing scene. I am enjoying not having the rush in the mornings, the nagging of schoolwork, the hurry up of dinner at 6:30...I love how much easier Summer is!

I enjoyed the simple pleasure of running barefoot through the grass to catch the setting sun with my two younger boys. I felt like a kid again! And to think...I almost passed it up to plunk away on my laptop. For shame! :)

This is a really adorable table setting! Peonies my favorite but most of the time people dont like peonies when they are fully bloomed but i think they're adorable even when they are fully bloomed!

Lovely, indeed...

I guess, we have the same thought this week. I have a spot in my cubby house veranda. I set for 2 for breakfast, and I am enjoying it, though the Swedish summer this year is just raining §:-(

Happy w/end.
